Sainthood is a noble status bestowed by Allah upon His chosen servants. However, misunderstandings about the concept of sainthood often arise within society. This study aims to analyze the Sufi thought of Sheikh Ahmad bin Sheikh Muhammad Said al-Linggi, a prominent Sufi scholar from Negeri Sembilan, on the concept of sainthood based on his works Itti??f Dhaw? al-Raghab?t and Rafc al-Khidr can Amr al-Awliy?’. The methodology involves textual analysis of Sheikh Ahmad al-Linggi’s works and comparisons with the views of renowned scholars within the Ahli Sunnah wa al-Jama’ah tradition. The study examines the definition of a saint, their attributes, and the hierarchical ranks of sainthood in Sufi tradition. The findings reveal that Sheikh Ahmad al-Linggi defines a saint as someone who has reached closeness to Allah. He emphasizes the importance of sound creed, adherence to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad SAW, obedience to sharia, and consistent remembrance (dhikr) of Allah as key traits of a saint. Additionally, he defends the concept of saintly ranks such as Qutb, Abdal, Awtad, and Anjab, supported by mutually corroborating hadiths and athar from various chains of transmission. This perspective demonstrates a balanced integration of creed, sharia, and Sufism in understanding sainthood. The study concludes that Sheikh Ahmad al-Linggi's interpretation of sainthood aligns with the views of scholars from the Ahli Sunnah wa al-Jama’ah tradition.
